Curry - A dish made with spices, cooked in oil with a sauce made from puréed onions, garlic and ginger.

The word 'curry' can be traced to the Tamil word 'kari' meaning spiced sauce, however the word isn't really used in India, owing to its many varying types of regional curry style dishes. Scientists have discovered that spices used in curry arouse and stimulate our taste buds, releasing that good old' feel good factor (and you thought it was just the accompanying beer you were drinking!).  The dish Chicken Tikka is the true Indian dish and the Masala sauce was added to satisfy the British need for eating meat with gravy.

Here’s a staggering fact: did you know that 3.5 million curries are eaten in the UK every week?

The simplest way to cook our curry sauce is to brown meat, vegetables or legumes in a little drop of sunflower oil add your favourite mild, medium or hot curry sauce and, once the meat is cooked and the sauce warmed through, serve with rice, naan bread and/or a nice cold beer!

Cheers!
